Maslow Project is a nationally-recognized outreach program and resource center that works with families, schools, and social service agencies to break down barriers to success that the more than 1,000 homeless youth in the Rogue Valley face.

At Maslow Project, we realize that basic needs must be met before children and families can reach their higher goals. How can elementary school children be expected to sit and concentrate when their bellies are empty and they slept fitfully on a crowded living room floor? How does a high school student study for the SATs when his “desk” is the front seat of a car?

Our one-stop resource center ensures that immediate basic needs are met, including access to hygiene supplies, food, showers, laundry, clothing, and shoes. When those needs are met, we facilitate easy access to in-depth services from a comprehensive team of community partners, including Community Works, OnTrack, The Job Council, Phoenix Counseling Service, Department of Health and Human Services, and Magdalene Home. Maslow Project helps youth establish educational, employment, and personal development goals while providing wrap-around case-management services to assist youth in attaining those goals. In addition, Maslow Project offers two mentoring groups, GiRLS UNITe! and Farm Hand, and provides student support services at local schools. Maslow’s “Jessica’s Closet” offers free clothing to youth in need in a boutique-like atmosphere. Our outreach team builds community awareness and seeks out unaccompanied and unenrolled youth who may otherwise fall through the cracks.

Maslow Project’s concept of providing wrap-around services and comprehensive case management has proven to be extremely effective at stabilizing at-risk youth. In 2008, the National Association for the Education of Homeless Children & Youth (NAEHCY) bestowed Maslow Project with the honor of Outstanding School-Based Education Program Providing Services to Students in Homeless Situation. However, our most rewarding feedback has been from the kids themselves.

There definitely should be more people like you in the world!

I appreciate all you have done and thank you from the bottom of my heart.
