Carol Neil

Carol graduated from UC Berkeley in 1966 with a BS degree in Psychology and obtained an advanced degree in elementary education in 1966, also from UC.  She worked as a probation officer and social worker until 1977 when she began her real estate career in Berkeley. In 1980, she co-founded Northbrae Properties, a successful boutique real estate agency. In 1985 she cofounded Ocean View Travel. Carol was Northbrae's broker of record and leading producer until 1991 when, as a result of her husband's transfer, they moved to Connecticut and she sold her interest in both of her businesses. While in Connecticut, 1991 to 1997, she served as executive director of the Stamford City Ballet and founded Nature's Bubbles, a children's bath products company (The birth of her first grandson was her inspiration for founding Nature’s Bubbles). In 1997, she and her husband returned to the bay area where she sold her Nature’s Bubbles business and returned to her career as a real estate broker. She took a break in 2000 to focus on building a small private winery and second home in the Applegate Valley where she and her husband were splitting their time between the two homes. She returned to real estate in 2010 affiliating with a large company and then worked as a private broker from 2012 until 2015. From 2010 to 2018 she volunteered her services to SF Botanical Gardens and the de Young museum, joined the boards of the Aurora Theatre and UC Berkeley’s Cal Performances and became affiliated with Rotary. In 2018, she retired for the final time from real estate. Joe and Carol sold their home in Berkeley and are now living full time in the Applegate Valley, spending time with their two daughters and 4 grandchildren scattered about California, enjoying friends, gardening and making wine. She transferred her Rotary membership to the Rogue Valley Medford Club where she is currently active.
