JOB DESCRIPTION
This role combines community outreach, event planning, graphic design and relationship building to raise awareness of Maslow Project and our services for homeless youth and families. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication, organization, and graphic design skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and data entry. Some weekend and evening availability is required for attending community events. Join our team and help us in our mission to end youth homelessness sooner!
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES & EXPECTATIONS
1. Represent Maslow Project at Community Events: Build Relationships and Drive Engagement
Plan and execute successful community events: This includes registering for events, preparing materials, coordinating logistics, and ensuring smooth event operations.
Be a brand ambassador: Engage with community members in a friendly, informative manner, building positive relationships and representing Maslow Project’s values.
Capture and share the impact: Document event highlights through quality photos and videos for use on social media and other marketing materials, showcasing the positive impact of Maslow Project’s community involvement.
Increase awareness and support: Present Maslow Project programs and key talking points to community groups, raising awareness and understanding of our mission and impact.
2. Visual Storytelling and Content Creation: Elevate Our Brand Presence
Craft compelling narratives: Design visually engaging social media content that tells captivating stories and strengthens our brand presence. Develop and execute a content calendar aligned with our overall social media strategy.
Design impactful marketing materials: Create eye-catching, brand-aligned flyers, handouts, and other marketing collateral using Canva and/or Adobe Creative Suite. Oversee printing and production as needed. Video or podcast production skills a plus.
3. Volunteer Coordination: Cultivate Key Partnerships
Be a primary point of contact for volunteers: Provide exceptional support to our volunteers, addressing their inquiries, needs, and fostering a positive and collaborative environment.
4. Donor Relations and Gratitude: Cultivate Lasting Relationships
Express heartfelt appreciation: Craft and send personalized thank you notes to donors, expressing sincere gratitude for their valuable contributions.
Support donor stewardship efforts: Assist with a variety of mailing projects, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of important donor communications.
5. Data Entry: Maintain Accurate Records
Ensure data accuracy: Accurately input data into a database, with a high level of attention to detail.
Develop and maintain key spreadsheets: Use Excel to create and maintain spreadsheets that effectively track and organize key data.
6. Maintain Inventory of Outreach Materials
Keep outreach inventory organized and stocked, researching new product options as needed.
Advise when re-order of materials is needed.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience Requirements:
Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen (including marijuana use).
High school diploma/GED or higher.
Must speak fluent English; Spanish proficiency is a plus but not required.
2+ years of direct experience in community relations work, customer service or a similar area.
2+ years of experience with using Canva and social media platforms (Instagram/Facebook).
Proficiency in using iPhones, computers and office software (Gmail, Microsoft Office)
Outgoing, friendly demeanor with genuine enjoyment of working with people.
Strong work ethic and time management skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations.
